New Additions to MHS
Faculty and staff bring a world of expertise
New faculty and staff joining the Miss Hall’s community this fall come from near and far and bring many talents to share with our students. We are pleased to welcome new adults — including two alums! — to classroom, coaching, and administrative roles.
Katrina Hall, Ed.D., joins MHS as Director of Athletics, coming to the School from Sport Singapore, the lead governmental agency tasked with building a holistic sports culture in the nation of Singapore. Katrina joined Sport Singapore in 2016 as Assistant Director of its Active SG Athletics Club. She was named Deputy Director of the nation’s SportsCares initiative in 2019 and Head of the Active SG Para Sport Academy in 2022. In that role, she spearheaded the development of a program supporting 500 para-athletes in 12 sports. Katrina’s prior experience includes 14 years in special education as a teacher, principal, and special education director.
At Miss Hall’s, Katrina oversees all aspects of the MHS athletics program, which includes nine varsity team sports and accompanying junior varsity teams that play across three seasons. Her responsibilities also include oversight of recreational and intramural activities, hiring and supervising coaches, development of summer athletic programming, and advising student athletes. Katrina holds a Doctor of Education and a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership, both from the University of La Verne, where she also earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. A former Division III Track-and-Field All-American, Katrina also has experience coaching track-and-field.
Leah Deane, Ph.D., History Teacher, comes to Miss Hall’s from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, where she taught upper school History since 2015. From 2019 to 2021, Leah also served as Advisory Coordinator at St. Andrew’s, providing student advising for 10th and 11th graders as a founding member of the Advisory Coordination team. From 2012 to 2015, she was a Social Studies Teacher at L.C. Anderson High School, also in Austin. Leah holds a B.A. in History, an M.A. in American History, and a Ph.D. in American History, all from the University of Texas at Austin.
Anna Lawrence joins Miss Hall’s as Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Coordinator. Anna comes to MHS from Linden Hall, an independent boarding and day school for girls in grades 6 through 12 in Lititz, Pennsylvania, where she worked since 2019. At Linden Hall, Anna served as Assistant Director of Admissions and as a dorm parent, until she was named Interim Director of Enrollment Management in December 2023. Anna holds a B.A. in Psychology from Bates College and a M.Ed. in Enrollment Management and Policy from the University of Southern California.
Lila Lofving, Chemistry Teacher, comes to MHS as a recent graduate of Kenyon College, where since 2021 she was also a Student Researcher in the college’s Getzler Research Laboratory. At Kenyon, Lila served as a Lead Tutor and Intro Lab Teaching Assistant, teaching basic laboratory techniques, evaluating students’ skills, and working with faculty to engage students. As an Expedition Trip Leader for the Kenyon College Outdoors Club, she planned and led 3-to-7-day backpacking trips for students in Ohio, West Virginia, and Tennessee. She holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Kenyon College.

Most recently, Maddie was a Logistics Associate at Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing in nearby Lee, and, from 2020 to 2023, she was a Math Teacher at Taconic High School in Pittsfield, where she taught Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Placement Calculus. Maddie also has experience with coding and participating in robotics challenges. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics, with a teaching concentration, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is a member of the Miss Hall’s Class of 2016.
Katherine Sheridan ’18 is the new Greenhouse Teacher, joining the Horizons program to teach students horticulture and essential project planning skills, and deliver the 9th-grade Greenhouse Project curriculum, which culminates in the annual Horizons Plant Sale. Kitty grew up in her family’s fine gardening business, where she developed a love for plants and gained extensive greenhouse experience. Most recently, she did work as a Post Excavation Researcher & Technician at the University of Edinburgh, where she earned her M.Sc. in Human Osteoarchaeology — the study of biological remains from archeological sites. Kitty holds a B.A. in Classics, Archaeology, and Anthropology from Dickinson College. She is a member of the MHS Class of 2018.
