Congratulations to faculty recognized for their work in the broader Berkshires community and beyond
Director of Library Services Vicky Biancolo P’16, ’20 has been appointed to the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. The nine-member board is tasked with organizing, developing, coordinating, and improving library services throughout Massachusetts. “As a school librarian, I believe I will bring a unique perspective to the board and I am looking forward to helping advance library services for all residents of the Commonwealth,” Commissioner Biancolo said.
Christopher Himes, Ph.D., Director of Engineering and Technology Innovation/STEAM Coordinator at MHS, delivered the keynote address on January 18, 2021, at Berkshire Community College's Martin Luther King, Jr., Virtual Day of Service. Dr. Himes’ remarks reflected on the year that has transpired since the last Day of Service, shared thoughts and observations about challenges and progress, drew inspiration from Dr. King’s writings and speeches, and asked all to engage in thought and action.
English Teacher Emily Pulfer-Terino ’97 had her poem — “Being Seen” — published in the Winter 2021 issue of the Sky Island Journal, an online literary journal dedicated to discovering and publishing the finest original poetry, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction. Ms. P-T’s work has also appeared in Tupelo Quarterly, Hunger Mountain, The Collagist, The Southeast Review, Poetry Northwest, Stone Canoe, The Louisville Review, Juked, and other journals and anthologies.
