Social Media Terms of Use
The Miss Hall’s School Core Competencies — Vision, Voice, Interpersonal Efficacy, and Gumption — are the guideposts for all of our interactions, both in person and online.
All users of MHS Social Media accounts must demonstrate interpersonal efficacy — empathy, self-awareness, and cultural competency — to navigate diverse contexts.
As we teach students, it is paramount to treat others with the utmost respect. Accordingly, all community members are expected to present themselves with integrity, communicate effectively, advocate confidently, and demonstrate and command respect.
Your use of Social Media is subject to our school values as well as all applicable laws and regulations, and you are solely responsible for the substance of your communications. By posting information in or otherwise using any communications service or any interactive feature that may be available to you on or through Social Media, you agree that you will not upload, share, post, or otherwise distribute or facilitate distribution of any content — including text, communications, software, images, sounds, data, or other information — that:
- is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, tortious, contains explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of sexual acts (including but not limited to sexual language of a violent or threatening nature directed at another individual or group of individuals), or otherwise violates our rules or policies;
- victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability
- infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other proprietary right of any party;
- constitutes unauthorized or unsolicited advertising, junk or bulk email (also known as “spamming”), chain letters, any other form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling;
- contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs that are designed or intended to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment or to damage or obtain unauthorized access to any data or other information of any third party; or
- impersonates any person or entity, including any of our employees or representatives.
What constitutes misuse, whether listed above or not, is determined at our sole discretion. We forbid misuse of Social Media and reserve the right to refuse any further use of Social Media by you for any misuse.
We reserve the right, without notice or liability, to:
- Disclose any information that we possess control over as may be necessary to satisfy any law, regulation, or legal request;
- Edit, refuse to post, or remove any comment or material that does not follow these terms or that we find objectionable for any other reason, known or unknown, all determined at our discretion, at any time; and
