This is where a lot of the action happens. The Main Building is home to the Dining Room, Patsy Manley Smith ’55 Living Room, the Student Center, the Terry S. Thompson ’64 Humanities Wing, the Humes Euston Hall Library, Centennial Hall, and about half of our boarding students.

Linn Hall includes our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Departments, the Hopper Innovation LabNamed for Grace Murray Hopper, the pioneering computer programmer and mathematician best known for her contributions to early computer programming languages., and our one-of-a-kind Horizons program. Linn has an awesome fireplace and lots of spaces for studying. (It's also a good shortcut between buildings on rainy days!)

The Humanities Wing is home to our English, History, and Language Departments — plus a few other things. You're just as likely to hear Latin or Chinese on the second floor as you are to see Buddy on the first floor.

The Klein is home to most things Expressive Arts at MHS — ceramics, photography, studio art, and theater. (The Music Department is in the Main Building.) The Klein is open almost 24/7, which makes it a great place to drop in to work on a project or just relax.

Ensembles, Grace NotesThe Grace Notes are our a cappella singing group., and a host of student musicians can be heard every day in the Music Wing’s practice rooms and the main Music Room, which is worth a visit to check out the music posters on walls.

Cozy and comfortable, the Library is a great place to work, study, or relax. There are tons of resources (Mrs. Buerger will show you how to find what you need, whether it's in a book or a database) for any project you'll be working on.

The Melissa A. Leonhardt ’76 Academic Skills Center — we just call it the ASC — also lives in the Library. The ASC offers everything from drop-in “power sessions” for brushing up on study skills for an upcoming test to regular sessions for meeting academic challenges.

The Student Center is a top spot for taking a break during the day. Comfy couches and a large, flatscreen TV make it a pretty popular place on the weekends, too!

The Anne Meyer Cross ’37 Athletic Center is an 18,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that includes full-sized basketball and volleyball courts, along with fully equipped fitness rooms and locker rooms.

Our outdoor athletes take advantage of our 80-acre campus, which includes full lacrosse and soccer fields; an NCAA-compliant, natural turf field completed in the spring of 2019; a softball diamond; and six brand-new tennis courts. The varsity and JV ski teams practice at the nearby Bousquet Ski Area; the varsity and JV golf teams practice and host matches at Miraval (formerly Cranwell), in Lenox; and the equestrian team rides at SJH Equestrian, a 90-acre facility in nearby Canaan, New York.

The Living Room's central location make it a popular spot for gathering, whether it's before or after meals or while waiting for a weekend trip to head off campus. It also has a toasty fireplace and comfortable couches — and our founder, Mira Hall, watches over the room.

The Culinary Services Team spoils us — but we don't mind. In addition to great meals — weekend brunch is a must! — the Dining Room is open most of the day for snacks and drinks. If you're timing’s right, they'll have just put out some cookies.

We have three dorms on campus: The Main Building (home to most students), Witherspoon Hall (a cozy community just steps from the Library), and the New Residence Hall. (We just call it New.)

The Greenhouse is often the warmest and the coolest place on campus. Ninth-graders do a lot of their Horizons work here, growing plants for their annual Horizons Plant Sale. It is a cozy and relaxing place to spend a winter's afternoon, and Ms. Rutledge often plays some cool tunes.

Centennial Hall is where we meet twice each week as a community for news and updates, special presentations, and to sing Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating a birthday that week. Centennial also hosts concerts, receptions, and the occasional spontaneous dance party.
