At Miss Hall’s, students live and learn with friends from all over the world — and work alongside one another to contribute boldly and creatively to the common good.

This year’s students come from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, China, Croatia, Germany, Guatemala, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Mali, Mexico, Moldova, Serbia, Singapore, Somaliland, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.

From the moment students arrive on campus, they become part of a brilliantly diverse community: 38% of Miss Hall’s students identify as white; 32% as Asian; 13% as Black; and 9% as Hispanic or Latino/a/x. Inclusion is a strength of our school and is embodied in all aspects of student life.

One of the first things you’ll notice are the flags lining the walls of Centennial Hall signifying the places of origin of students, faculty, staff, and recent alums. This shared space where we come together for all-school meetings, concerts, and presentations represents our global community.

Cross-cultural dialogue is actively encouraged at Miss Hall’s, and we have a variety of student-led organizations and Affinity Groups that support important conversations and provide spaces for dialogue and understanding.

Open to all community members, the International Student Alliance is one of three Essential Coalitions at Miss Hall's. The group helps educate students and adults via dialogue, performances, and gatherings that celebrate diversity, affirm cultural identity, and cultivate global citizen-mindedness.

At Miss Hall’s, each student is seen and known and is encouraged to share their passions and culture with others, enriching everyone’s experience. In this empowering environment, Miss Hall’s students have myriad opportunities to practice leadership and learn the skills that will help them emerge as confident global citizens.

Model UN is an on-campus Horizons project which simulates the United Nations General Assembly and its multinational bodies.

Guided by History Teacher Dr. Thomas Stock, Model UN cultivates global citizenship through debate and negotiation, with students working together to form joint resolutions to real-world problems such as climate change, humanitarian crises, and military conflict — along the way becoming confident public speakers.

Miss Hall’s is a founding member of an energized movement to advance girls’ education worldwide.

A prime example: Miss Hall’s and the Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology in Kigali, Rwanda, recently received the Moulton Student Global Citizenship Grant for the through the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools to support a project led by students, French Teacher Aurélie Cressin, and Dean of Equity and Inclusion Paula Lima Jones focused on sexual and reproductive health education. The grant “enhances global mindfulness by developing empathy and respect for others.”

One key member of every international students' Personal TeamYour Personal Team will help you settle in at Miss Hall's, support and cheer you on, and make sure you have what you need to succeed. Your team includes peers — such as your Proctor and your Big — as well as trusted adults — your advisor, dorm parents, and coaches — who will be your most enthusiastic advocates throughout your time at MHS. is International Student Advisor Tanya Kalischer. A Chinese Language and Culture teacher, by training, Tanya is a dedicated first point of contact for our international students and families.

Like any home, we strive to be as welcoming as possible for everyone, from the care we give to assigning roommates to our Culinary Team taking requests for favorite foods from around the globe.
